Hello, I just discovered this forum yesterday and decided to register, so I can discuss things and issues with people to whom I feel related because of the social phobia/anxiety condition.
I read a couple of posts and inmediately felt "at home"; honestly, I didn't expect to meet other people with SP/SA, as in my environment I seem to be the only person having it!
Just a bit about myself:
I'm in my early 30's, with a bachelor degree in Computer Science and currently a graduate student, I live almost alone (a relative and very good friend lives with me part of the year), and I've been experiencing SP/SA since I was 13 (actually also through childhood, but it wasn't too pronounced). Although I've managed to carry a more or less "normal" life (have a 9-5 office job, go to university, have a girlfriend), the daily struggle with the "real" me (the shy, apathetic, socially awkward) leaves me very tired at the end of most days. Of course, there are countless details involved when one has this condition (as you know firsthand), so I'll keep this introduction short.
Thank you very much for reading and I hope to participate actively in the forums!
(Sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
