life's little irritants/a rant

I went to the movies today; went to see Iron Man 3. It was good, from what I can remember of it!

....

So the morning began with SIL coming into my bedroom far too early - with both kids. Asking, 1. Can you help me give the medicine (to the youngest)? I can't seem to do it... ok, I'll stop right here...I have given the 8 month old her medicine (ear/respiratory infection) ALL DA*M WEEK BY MYSELF.
So I help...that's done, then she goes, "can you watch them while I get in the shower and pump" .... I sigh, sure. Oh and can you get the kids around so (my brother) doesn't have to do it while we are at the movies. Sigh again. OK.

So I gave the kid her medicine, bathed both kids, SIL showered and pumped. Then it was my turn, as she bought tickets for the 10 am showing. That gave me a whole 20 minutes at most to get around. By this time my anxiety is over the top - I was physically shaking, had headache and what once was excitement to see the movie, turned into frustration and irritation with her especially when I found out my 4 yr old nephew was coming along.

So bottom line, the only real reason I got to go is so I could be there for when the nephew asks all the questions....

GO ahead, ask if I liked the movie, I don't know! I have no idea about what went on...tis a shame.

rhetorical question - what the heck do single mothers do, or even single fathers, or both parents for that matter with their kids when they have to administer medication or take a shower? 5 -6 days a week I bathe, bath the kids, give the little one her meds, cook, feed them, take the nephew back/forth to preschool, help him with his sight words, clean the house....
I am SO spoiling them that when I leave, they are going to be a wreck. If not for me, the dogs wouldn't even have food or water (sorry if that sounds arrogant)

They are supposed to be educated, well adjusted humans - My grandma was right, the more you do for them, they will take it all for granted.

OK, sorry just had to get this off my chest.

I was thinking the same after reading your post. They are taking extreme advantage of your kindness. Your SIL sounds like an irresponsible parent and a cactus would probably die under her care. She wouldn't know how to survive if you decided to just up and leave. Also, this is affecting your health in a negative way. You shouldn't have to go through that for someone else.

I really don't know what else to say but I hope things can turn around for you.

what is 'pumped'?
Must be talking about breast milk I guess.

Yes, I know there's nothing that can be said that already has not been said. With that being said (see what I did there?) This rant was more rhetorical just to get out of my system...
and yes, I was talking about breast milk. ick, I know.

Cowboyup, I am having deja vu.

You have posted about this many, many times in the past, and it's still happening. You still look after the kids while the sister-in-law treat you like a free nanny and maid.

It's still happening. It has got to stop and only you can put your foot down and say, "no, I've had enough."
