Hey hardy, I just want to say that I read the article "Art of Living" that you posted and tried out some of the suggestions listed. Vipassana does help during times when I was wrought with bad memories and horrible thoughts. I wouldn't say I was "cured" in any way yet, but at least I'm making small progress. Thanks for sharing!

I tried to do it on my own...but failed. Initially, one learns the technique from an experienced teacher in a good environment suitable for inner operation(meditation).

Good to know you understood the technique...but it takes time, patience to master it and apply it in daily life. The practical part is not so easy as reading an article. The ups and downs of learning a new skill....it took me 4-5 yrs to reach a decent level. I had to make a lot of mistakes(still do)...but i know for sure this is the path. And also i reap the benefits of hard work.

search vridhamma.org...also listen to talks by Ajahn Brahm on youtube if you want.
