Praised at work today!

This morning an old lady came up to me when i was standing at the door way of the shop i work in and said that it was a pleasure to see such a pleasant and smiling security guard! She thanked me for being pleasant and told me that every other security guard she has seen in other places has a face like thunder.

Second praise today- the area manager for the chain of shops i work in came in to do his inspection and the shop manager came to see me after he left and said that he mentioned that i was doing a great job with my paperwork and all!

No big deal to some but for me it's a triumph

I've thought about it a few times, even looked on the job points, but they require qualifications I’ve never heard of before. Ah – plus most of the time you need a car, which I don’t have.

The company i work for provide the training. I had to go to the head office and stay there for 4 days for the training. At the end of it you get what is called an SIA card which is a licence to work as a security officer. They do a very thorough check on your history in case you have any criminal convictions etc. I'm still waiting for mine to be processed to get my SIA card.

You should write those compliments from the old lady and the area manager down on a piece of paper, so you can get it out and read them next time you are feeling down.
