One reason why i still live at home

If i moved to a new address i'd have to change all my details; Bank, insurence, memberships, driving licence etc!

I just can't be arsed to do all that crap and what if i only stayed in the address for a brief period? I'd have to change them all again!

Why is life so much hassle?!

i still live at home because my paycheck is too small and I dont want to have to pay rent and all the other things i'd pay for if I lived alone. also I know that I would turn in to a hermit if I lived alone :D

I live at home because I am a full time student and my studies or so
demanding for me I do not think I could work on the side.
It's getting embarrassing however as I am going to be 30 in 1.5 years.
And as Miami said if I would live by myself
I am sure I would be completely alone all day long,
coming home to an empty house everyday.
I am sure it would not be good for me in the long run.

I wish my circumstance were different all the time.

Yeah it's also for the financial reasons and i'd hate to be in an empty house all the time.

Yeah and that's just the start of it. Youv'e got to arrange telephone, gas, electric, water and the rest as well. Too complicated especially when you hate communicating with people. That's another problem as well, having to go through agents and stuff.
I'm put off buying a property because of all the communication with people that I'd have to do. There would be estate agents, mortgage people, solicitors, surveyors and probably loads more. Very off-putting.

This is because we have the term "bureaucracy." I forget who invented and I am not sure how it caught on, but the original thinking was that this is the most efficient method of creating a successful organization, and of course, it has turned out to be the opposite. Hassle is just a part of life, unfortunately, and so is bureaucracy. Bureaucracy is a bad system because it distrusts people and doesn't let them function on their own. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be going away either :(

Similar situation here :( I don't earn enough yet to be able to live alone. And even if my family is not really the best family (they are jerks most of the time), it's better than being completely alone.

I'm a full time student at college and I'm only 22 so I don't think it's that strange for me to still be home. And my father died and then my mom's boyfriend died so she'd be alone with my sister, and who knows what my sister is going to do, so I think she'd actually prefer for me to stay as long as possible.

But yeah, if I had my own place, I'd be a shut in. I've come to terms and am at peace with that though. I still look forward to having my own place. Besides, I'd eventually get a dog. I wouldn't be 100% alone.

That really isnt the most hassling thing about having to move, but aye its another pain in the ass to sort out :D

Ive had my own place from being young, had no choice as I got kicked out.Having your own place can be great  You can do what you want when you want, have who you want over,or just completley ignore the outside world.

I do miss being back home :D It's not really untill you move out, that you realise just how good you have it at home. When your on your own,you have to pay all the bills,do all your cooking, cleaning, washing ect ect.I do like having my own space but I do miss living at home.

I know some people feel bad that they still live at home with there folks as they get older, but I dont think its anything to be ashamed of,if you get on with your folks, why not :)

I do get on with my parents but it's just the feeling of being in the way and wanting to feel grown up really.
