First day at school

The first day went surprisingly well. Talked with a few students, didnt make any friends though. My meds got me through the day (Addy, Kpin, and Dilaudid) ;)

My new netbook/iphone internet tethering combo worked well too. I could be in class answer professors emails, download course notes, write my notes, and talk on msn all at once from the comfort of my desk :)

Nice one! :)

Today was my second day, and I think my meds have helped me a lot, too. I ended up going into town with a group of 5 other lads from my class, for lunch break!

I've noticed that everyone struggles with conversation on the first day. I spent most of my free time with the same group yesterday, but no one really had anything to say! There was a LOT of awkward silence. So it's not just us SA folks who find it hard!

Its kinda hard cause NONE of my classes have the same people as the rest of my classes do, so its hard to make friends...

That does make it more difficult ::(: I'm lucky because with the course I'm doing, there are only 12 people in my class, and I'll be with those 12 people in every class...

I'm at a very small college, maybe 600 students (complete guess.)

I suppose in your situation you can always single out someone who seems to be alone during free periods, and approach them. I'm currently very uncomfortable in a group of 6, but I'm trying really hard...

I've actually found that I'm more comfortable in a college which has lots of students. So many that you don't even see half of them. I guess you can kind of become invisible. I spent a year at a very small sixth form which had 18 people in our year. My anxiety had never been so bad before, the experience opened it all up.

There are around 10'000 students at my university. It starts around the 26th of October.

I hear ya 3500 students at my college, but I have a lecture class with two hundred student and I have to do a presentation in that class ugh
Oh, that's really bad. Talking in front of two hundred people can be intense.

Yeah, I only had like less than 5 in my class including myself.

I prefer a few people but it is bad at the same time because there will be much more emphasis on a single person, which is clearly ironic but yet I could keep my anxiety under wraps with very little to no people.

I just read that I will eventually have to present to the entire class my individual solutions to the homework exercises at the whiteboard. :p Fun times.

I had my first A and B days already at my school. My B day went well because I spend 8:00 am to 1:30 pm at a technical school being around people I like, so I kind of expected it to go well.. but A day, oh god. I have 3 classes, and my last bell is full of loud 11th graders (I'm in 12th)... normally I wouldn't be intimidated by them but I'm realizing I'll end up the whole semester in that class without speaking to anyone. Not to mention I got on the bus home and was awkward as hell getting on, some fat kid was like "Move!" because I was couldn't find a seat :\. So now I'm nervous as hell riding that bus home.

I never rode the bus in my life. Ive always either walked or had a drive from either parents or my own car.
