Feeling Euphoric And A Lot Less Anxious After Energy Drink

I noticed that sometimes (not every time) minutes after drinking a 5 Hour Energy drink, I feel buoyed, happy and willing to socialize. This always happens at work since that's the only time I feel tired enough to want an energy drink. I'm not a coffee drinker so the small 5 Hour Energy drink is my choice.

I was interested enough to do some research on the internet and found out the euphoric feeling isn't all that uncommon. I'm wondering if anyone here has found that it helps relieve their feelings of anxiety. Unfortunately, this feeling only lasts for about an hour but I'm wondering if lack of energy is directly related to my anxiety or is it my anxiety that causes my lack of energy.

You want to know how I got these scars?
Yes more so if I haven't had one in a while. If I have them too often it doesn't happen.

I'm not sure if 'euphoric' is the feeling I experience, but it's somewhere in that ballpark. I get what you mean.

Some of the comments I’ve come across during my research echo yours. The feeling seems more common if you haven’t taken any in a while. Maybe it’s just the body getting used to the caffeine.

I used to get really physically nervy when i used to drink energy drinks. But it also felt good, which was why they were hard to give up. I expect it's like trying to give up coke, or coffee.

If i have caffeine in any form I get very talkative and want to so******e. It can last to the wee hours of night and I usually cant sleep tho lol. The result after though can be exhaustion.

Energy drinks have the B vitamins in them, a surge of caffeine and certain amino acids for concentration. Some of them are like nootropics.

Break down the ingredients in them and see if your diet lacks whatever is in them. Maybe you dont need an energy drink to get euphoria.

One thing I notice isn't caffeine lowering my anxiety (when I drink it), but how my anxiety increases when I am tired. When I am my brain doesn't work at full capacity, and I tend to be more irrational in my thinking and forget how to use logic and catastrophize or just flat out forget how to function. Perhaps the alertness the caffeine gives temporarily helps to think more clearly in situations where one's usual natural anxious thinking take over?
