Not this year because for the first time in my life i have a job which requires working on Christmas eve (i only get Christmas day off) but i do know the feeling. I have my parents but it's not the same as snuggling up to a girlfriend (if i had one) in front of the fire, opening presents::

i dont hate christmas entirely because it is the birthday of christ anyway but i do dislike spending christmas with the people i am with. they are always questioning me as to why i am so quiet.

to avoid emptiness, the first idea that should come into mind is establishing a goal and try fulfilling that goal. Working on that obstacle, could help forget or vanish at least some of the saddness you all have.

"Don't wait for anyone to complete you"... I've never ever been in a relationship of any sort due to busyness (typo on purpose). Then there suddenly comes a time when it strikes you that... you're lonely. And sometimes the most lonely time is when you're being surrounded by people... if that makes any sense to you.

Is there any thread 'feeling depressed and lonely at new year'? because that's how will I be tomorrow.. I can't believe it turned that way..first time that I will be all alone when clock bangs 12.. I am trying to convince myself that it'sn not a big deal..and that it's only the regular day but..uf :

Hmmmm well the funny thing is that goal for me is to get a lover. And yeah I've been trying to fulfill that goal for a long time now. But sometimes I just can't help feeling sad and wanting to cry. But ty for the advice anyways.

Hmmmm oddly enough I don't feel sad during new years/eve. To me it's feels like a fresh start for me.
But sorry that you had to be alone during the new year

Yeah I know that, I'm still trying to become a stronger person both physically and mentally, cause I'm not satisfied with the way I am atm.
But I guess I can't help feeling that I need a lover to complete me. It's cause I'm "looking for more" in a lover than you're typical average person, that's why it means a lot to me.
