does anyone know how to over come depression?? It's like a dark cloudl follows me around and i cant get away from negative feelings. The worlds full of negativity, and i used to be able to look past it but not now.

Once you recover from being depressed is it easy to fall back into it?

I know this is about anxiety, but depression coexists....just wondering how everyone is else in this part of their recovery.

I feel like i cant escape the "cycle" depression causes.

Find the pill that suits you and your depression will be cured, anti-depressants suck at curing SA but theyre good for depression.

I do think that counselling tends to make good sense for you. This does not have to include any drugs/medications. You can live a healthier and less stressful life, and that can only help. However having a good therapist/counsellor for some time can sometimes make a big difference.

You want to know how I got these scars?
I've found one thing alone usually isn't the answer.
To give yourself the best shot at remaining free from depression;

1)Speak to your Doctor - about finding an anti depressant that works for you.
2)Find a good therapist - this is crucial to help deal with things in the longer term.
3)Consider self help, such as books and support groups.
4)Exercise regularly and eat with your well being in mind.

Sometimes we can't avoid bouts of depression. But we can lessen the severity and length of those bouts.
With the right help, you can find yourself suffering less frequently and less severely.

Good luck :)

It's all about the imbalance of chemicals in your brain.

Could be caused purely by your diet/exercise or lack thereof-- I've known people who had gotten better after only a couple months of depression and I've known people who have been depressed for as long as they can remember and they take lots of drugs but rarely find one that works.

Some depression will go on it's own and other bouts need a bit of a push with drugs/therapy.

Are you sleeping at 10pm and getting up at 7 am? Ask your doctor to draw your blood to check for vitamin d deficiency. You can take vitamin d or get more sun.

Depression takes time to get rid of, but for some of us there will always be up and downs.

For me, this has helped a lot, just don't try and do all at one time, concentrate on one small aspect and improve that. Small steps, baby steps.

Hoppy, I like this TLC approach, thanks for posting it!

Sounds like something I've been kinda doing myself, therapists encouraged walking etc too... I've been taking fish oil too, now we have shark liver oil, not sure if it's supposed to work the same?
