I'm only working 16 hours a week until I get another job but every shift hurts me mentally x.x it's the most crowded grocery store and i don't talk to any of my coworkers. Idk how. There's a group of guys talking and then what am I supposed to do... approach them? Instead i just say hi and leave at the end. I know they all say how i never talk because it's been heard literally. It really sucks. I can't wait to quit... :( I even asked to try out another job so i could do something new there before i left and the store manager is like quietness is in your nature so it's better to stay where you are now... ironic most of my internships have given me a lot of responsibility and it went okay... it sucks how some people can't look passed it...

Honestly....

You are dealing with personalities that are on the far end of the "show off" extroverted scale..

You are probably more introverted...

The world has chatty and quieter people, it is no big deal..

The problem is that you need to have more self respect for who you are...you clearly wish you could be like them, but you don't have to be and its not a problem..

There are people out there who you would get along well with, you just haven't met them yet, the only way to do this is to have hobbies, go out to places where you can meet people that you will click with...

I work with annoying know it all show offs and I do not put them on a pedestal, I just go about my business and enjoy myself anyway, even though I am more mild mannered and reserved..

Honestly, try to be happy and focus on you, not them..they don't care, they have big egos and loads of self respect, that is why they have all that ego...they don't care about you or me, they are too bothered with their own worlds..

To give you a nice example, three of my best friends have completely different personalities..

Friend 1: quiet, nice, cool, smiles, we share similar hobbies, music, history etc...
Friend 2: likes one liners, is mild mannered, nice, can be chatty etc...
Friend 3: egotistical, likes attention, narcissistic, difficult ....

So when you understand that people come in different personalities then really there is nothing to worry about...

Who cares. It is their problem for not being open minded enough to understand that people have different personalities...

It's as simple as that....
