Where should I start?

Sitting here thinking. If I want to attempt to go the pre-med route I'm not going to be able to do a half a** job like I do with everything else. Though, I've taken time off school and work so that already sets me back. I need guidance of some sort.. aside from an academic advisor who else can I look to? I don't know any med students, and the whole process is very nerve wracking. As much as I don't want to network, I'm going to have to. Need to get my butt in gear.

Wow. I'm impressed! Pre-med is tough, but if you get through it and do well, you have a shot at getting into a good medical school. Just do well in your courses and prepare yourself for the MCAT.

I once toyed with the idea but Organic Chemistry(or was it pre?) and Anatomy were enough of a hint that medical school wasn't for me. LOL

Although, I really should have majored in Psychology. Then I would have known what was wrong with me in college.

I view some of the courses (like physics) as classes that I don't necessarily need to be interested in nor enjoy, just able to tolerate.

Personally I know nothing of medical school but I do know it takes a lot of guts to do it and to network. I couldn't, that's for sure. I'd say in the long run it will really pay off.

Yes, if I can make it with this state of mind. Lol

For me its molecular biology then into my specialization. I’m halfway there. But I do need to spend less time on these forums/internet.

I started CBT 13 months ago so I’m well on the way to recovery. I tried to leave the forum about a couple of weeks ago but I guess that I still not ready yet. I need to develop a way of skipping through the posts and really picking up and taking support from some of the astoundingly informative helpful posts/threads.

That's great to hear. How do you like it so far?

Just realized today I'm going to have to cut back as well, as much as I don't want to.

Maybe somebody on here can introduce you to people who are studying medicine?

I used to be pre-med but I quit. I'm not cut out to be a doctor. Volunteering at the hospital was a huge eye opener for me. I couldn't even handle normal interaction with nurses and some of the patients.
