It sounds like maybe you're reading too much into his facebook activity. If he's not responding to you directly then he's probably not interested.

I'm amazed that you're still considering a relationship with him after a year of no replies.

Well very soon after I messaged him, I was in a relationship with someone else for that whole year and he knew that.

I have purposely ignored girls that liked me. Simply because I like being chased by them. I'd speak just enough to keep them interested but nothing more. I didn't drag it out for a year though, maybe a couple months at the most. Just long enough for them to ask me out. Then, depending on what mood I was in at the time, I'd accept or decline.
