withdrawal symptoms/anti depressant

I've been out of my anti-depressant for close to a month now. My RX is waiting for me at the pharmacy...I'm waiting to get paid so I can pick it up.

I didn't think it was a big deal until recently when (I'm guessing) the meds finally cleared their way out of my system...IDK. At any rate, I've been experiencing extreme agitation, feelings of being mildly electrocuted, dizzy, sick to my stomach, and trying to concentrate is like my brain has been taken over by some jello/pudding mixture. Things are really muddy up there I fear.

Doing some internet research, one of these apply to me: 1) die a horrible death within 12-24 hours because I ate a poison berry, 2) my body has been taken over by an alien parasite, or 3) I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms from not having the anti-depressant.

It caught me off guard because I've been without for longer but this time I guess it's different...well that's weird!?

anyone experience 'withdrawal' symptoms from anti-depressants?
If so, how long does it last, or will they go away right away after I take the medicine or will I have to wait til it gets in my system again?

What I experienced starting a month after going off Prozac was the same stuff I experienced before going on it, so I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms. Are you on an SSRI? They aren't really known to cause withdrawal symptoms. Did you experience any of this stuff before going on the antidepressant?

Yes, it's an SSRI (celexa) and the weird thing is most of my symptoms are the 'side effects' not so much withdrawal - only a couple.

I think number one and two are highly likely. I'm guessing an alien slipped you a poison berry-it happens all the time! lol

I've only tried Fluoxetine for a few weeks. It was like taking a sugar pill. But, the doctor did increase my dose. I haven't taken it yet.

I have an EDD meeting coming up. I'm thinking I should pop a Klonopin. Just to try it. I'm not going to take it long term. And the EDD meeting will be a good opportunity.

I don't know. I'm not crazy about taking pills anyway.

Me either...actually I have this thing about swallowing big pills too-can't do it
(no pun intended but yet that sounds so dirty)

I was on Klonopin - for me, it was OK but I could still take 2 and was fine with it..maybe you could cut in half and just take 1/2 to take the edge off?

When I was working at the local university, there were several law professors on Klonopin (and that folks, is how they got through teaching our future lawyers)
