What was getting therapy like for you?

I went to therapy 2 years ago and it helped a little. No vast improvement though. I think it was more being just a big first step in improving my SA. They give you a lot of tools and explain what's actually going on in your mind.
Now I use techniques that suit me and work best for me. I use EFT everyday, I do a lot of exposure therapy, I try to say yes more to things that would make me anxious and I try getting out everyday on my own.
I have noticed more improvement doing this stuff on my own out of my own initiative but without doing the big first step of going to therapy I may of never learnt these tools I have now.
So yeah I would say in my experience therapy is good but it does kind of come down to your initiative and your want and passion and to get better no matter how many walls show up :)
