Trichotillomania - Heard of it ?

Curious as to whether anyone has ever heard of Trichotillomania or even has it?

Is this the compulsive urge to pull out one's own hair leading to noticeable hair loss, distress, and social or functional impairment?. It is often chronic and difficult to treat?

Yeah that's it.. just curious of what people know of it. No one is interested to tell me though haha..

I saw a program years ago about compulsive skin picking and trichotillomania. I can relate to the skin picking. The hair pulling seemed to contain the same urgent need to pull out hairs as I have to pick at my skin.

Do you experience trichotillomania?
