So... I signed up for an online dating site a few days ago. I found someone in my area that seems really cool. She's great looking, but also your non-typical girl, which is what I think is what attracted me. I mean non-typical by the fact that she's really into art, anime, comics, video games, etc. We exchanged a couple of messages the past couple of days and things seem ok.

For kicks, I googled her username that she uses on the dating site. Lo and behold, it pulls up her facebook profile and a couple of forums that she had made posts on. Now I know her full name and entirely more than I want to know about her. I found posts about her past relationships, etc.

To me I feel a little creepy that I even found this stuff, but I don't necessarily feel at fault. I guess this is one of the reasons why I never use the same username for anything. I pride myself on my google-fu sometimes, but I guess it can get you in trouble ::eek::

Honestly, I don't even feel like replying to this chick anymore. I've often thought about ridding myself of all the "conveniences" of modern man. No computer, internet, cell phone, etc, and just living like the older days of 20-30 years ago.

Sucks ::(:

maybe you could just make freinds? as for dating, think of this, she might have girl mates who are similar to her!

shame on you for stalking though lol

Makes me feel more sane that i keep my personal life & online life separate by concealing my online Identity on social networking site's. :) Always comes back to bite u in the ass

I prefer to call it research ::p:

All jokes aside though, I do feel terrible about it. I blame google.

I know LOTS of girls who are into these things. In fact, usually when I meet a girl who's into anime, she's also an artist who enjoys video games and possibly comic books. If I meet a girl who likes comic books, she usually enjoys video games, anime, and maybe art. Those hobbies are actually very connected with one another. You're just not looking in the right crowds :)

So on the upside, you may have lost interest in this particular girl, but man, I GUARANTEE there are other girls with similar interests to hers. I'd bet my life on it.

Ehh, I gave up on the facebook/myspace thing a while back. Too many on there that were stuck living in the past. I suck at keeping in touch with people anyway. I'm slowly retreating away from everyone. I don't know WTF my deal is...

I am glad I found this site though.
