Talking over Xbox Live

...is something i just cannot do. It doesn't come naturally, every word i speak (when i actually do decide to say something) is artificial, rehearsed, and pathetic. I'd love to be able to just join in on the conversation, but it's like i lock up and can't say anything. Not to mention, being self-concious of my voice over the mic' ::(:

Anyone else have Xbox Live and is like this?

Happens to me all the time. I rarely use my headset anymore.
Xbox live isn't a good place to chat though because it's 90% children being bullies and putting everyone down. That's the sort of thing that kinda ruined my childhood in the first place, so I tend to skip the chatting.

I used to have that Messenger Kit with the keyboard. I used that to talk to people. I don't think I've ever used the mic on the headset because I could never join the conversation. ^,^;

I have always been fairly okay with using voice-comms in games, i remember i would forever talk among online buddies in games like Counterstrike and what not, and then i eventually adopted using Ventrilo for other games.

Though i ended up where i stopped interacting over the voice-comms in the end and have done for many years. Part of it might be because i don't know/want to talk to the people, alternatively it might be i don't want people overhearing in the room what i'm saying (Albeit, not rude so it's fine!)

It's probably a bit of both in essence, i will probably use it again one day and i'm fairly confident on it when i do get started, but i just don't have the need just yet!

The same could probably be said for programs such as Skype, but since i'm already working within a call-centre environment at the moment it's probably second nature to me.

I had and well do have trouble doing this, but I HATE my voice. So. Real reason. But I dont use Xbox Live but anything with voice is same. Becoming a regular on a server helped and I used voice. But. Yeah.

to me its opposite of real life....im more comfortable to talk/speak my mind when using a mic because i AM , in fact, using a mic and sitting behind a tv where no one can truly judge me or put me down. To me the mic is a cushion that makes me more comfortable

it is scientifically proven that chatting on xbox live kills more brain cells than alcohol
lol
But I really enjoyed a specific server in teamfortress 2.(

Man I really do miss that game. Besides rainbow six vegas 2, that's probably the best online experience I've ever had.
Well, and Uno on xbox live. But that's another story lol

I definitely play waaaaay too much. If anybody plays Halo Reach, i'm at the rank of Legend (approaching Mythic) so you'll know the sheer amount of playtime required to reach that high a rank :/ It can't be healthy, but it's so fun :p
