Stepping Out?

So, just curious...

Who here has actually met in person with someone else from the site? Has anyone found success in stepping out of their shell from their interactions here?

I guess I just think that since everyone seems to be facing some common obstacles, there is a good basis for actually developing a friendship...

I do know that some of the people here have met up with one another, or so I heard. Though I, being new have not done so personally.

I have no idea if I'm close to anyone or not :confused:.

I live in So.Cal (not the 'Laguna Beach' or O.C. SoCal, either.)

I'd bet dollars (Yup, just dollars :p) that no one lives near me.

Although, if they did, I don't know if I'd be willing to meet. I know this place is supposedly full of people like me, but at the same time, I've never met a person like me, so it's so hard for me to imagine I'd meet a person like me from here.

I feel like I'd be the awkward one making the situation uncomfortable, while the other person is a normal acting and functioning citizen in society, wondering what the heck was wrong with me and why did they even bother to meet me.

I feel like I'm not worth meeting.

No stepping out for me. Just a lot of staying in.

That's what I was wondering...I mean, isn't the point of this forum to work through the issues? What better way than taking small steps out of the comfort zone to meet people who can empathize on some level.

Im in the wrong country, none of you nutters live anywhere near me!!! Booooo! It would be cool to meet people from here though. Theres a lot of awesome folks and we could have SA parties!

I met people from another SA forum once. Tried to meet people here, but nobody came when I posted a gathering. Willing to drive 100-150 miles.
