Soundtrack for Socialphobia

Ok this is probably a silly idea but I thought it might be a bit of fun

What would be the soundtrack for socialphobics to listen to if we could put the relevant songs onto one CD?

Why dont we all add a track that we think has a particular relevance to sufferers of socialphobia. And the keener ones amongst us might even try and locate the different songs and put together a compilation CD

Would be interesting to see what tracks people choose and why...

Track One Iris - Goo Goo Dolls

Featured on the City of Angels soundtrack, for some reason I've always found this song expresses some of the frustrations that living with socialphobia and depression can bring. This choice was a tough call as I was very tempted to include any number of Evanescence songs, but maybe someone else will include one if I'm lucky :p

Who has track two?

4) The Verve - The drugs dont work seems remotely appropriate.

Then again most depressing songs appeal when im well depressed mainly cos of SP. Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis stuff like that has a wealth of songs that could fit.

Annnd I just found a little program that downloads lyrics for music and has karaoke for heaps, awesome :D

The Smiths- How Soon Is Now? has got to be added to any social phobia soundtrack, it's perfect. I went through high school listening to The Smiths/Morrissey.

"There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die"

Also a few others I like:

Smiths - I Know It's Over

Velvet Underground - After Hours

Morrissey-I Have Forgiven Jesus

"How soon is now?"

I hear that. Gives me a depression 'high'. Went into Classic Rock mode after that. Lost my coolness.

Couple of dopey ones:

Who can it be now?/ Men at Work
Somebody's watching me/ Rockwell
Left of Center/ Suzanne Vega
Doctor Doctor/ Thompson Twins
Europa/ Thomas Dolby ..... ..... make me cry.
Institutionalized/ Suicidal Tendencies ..... self pity rap

That puts me smack dab in the new wave 80's, right at the utter depths of my decline. Fast forward to the 00's and I'm completely lost with contemporary music but on the rise again. So there's hope, although I'm getting ready to listen to Frank Sinatra and Robert Cray. 8)

Oo I love 'mad world'. I've got one but it's not so related to SA, well maybe. It always motivates me relax about my life and try to change.

drive - incubus
Sometimes I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I cant help but ask myself how much I’ll let the fear take the wheel and steer
It’s driven me before, it seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal
Lately I’m beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there, I’ll be there
So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive, oh oh
It’s driven me before, it seems to be the way
That everyone else get around
Lately, I’m beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there, I’ll be there
Would you choose water over wine
Hold the wheel and drive
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there, I’ll be there

just ya know, when you feel that maybe you can start to take control of your life, when you make a resolution that SA isnt going to stop you doing somehting you want to.

Godd Charlotte - I Just Wanna Live

seems very apropriate espicialy the first verse :D

[SPONSOR]

I need an alarm system in my house
So I know when people are
Creeping about
These people are
Freaking me out

It's getting hectic everywhere that I go
They won't leave me alone
There's things they all wanna know
I'm paranoid about the people I meet
Why are they talking to me?
And why can't anyone see

I just wanna live
Don't really care about the things that they say
Don't really care about what happens to me
I just wanna live
Just wanna live

Definately madworld

two people have already said it but i have to absolutely agree.

"madworld" the new version by Gery Jules (Donnie Darko Soundtrack) not the old tears for fears version.
