You're saying alopecia is the cause of your depression?

Have you talked to a professional about getting the transplant.

Sorry for the long reply.

Hi,

I'm sorry about what you are going through. As the above poster has said there is still hope. Sometimes with hair loss, you have to be patient, as sometimes it's only for a period of time.
If you think that the implant will help you and the depression you have then it is something to consider, but it is something you need to think about and decide. I personally don't know about hair implants, but I think it is important that you should do research on it more and talk to professionals, who can advice you more. At the end of the day, you can get advice, but sometimes that advice may not suit your situation. So, it is all up to you.

I know that hair to a woman is very improtant, as something that, that is one of the things that make a woman. To me it's only a reflection on what society and the media have said it to be.

I suffer from DLE (discoid lupus erythematosus), which is a chronic skin condition. It has effected my scalp and has prevented my hair to re-grow (thankfully I don't have the sores). After years of feeling very low about my lack of hair (the hair that has fallen out will never grow back again), I decided to shave all my hair off. I get it right, left and centre on why I have shaved it and what my family say about how I should grow my hair again (my hair would look like a comb over, don't know why they do not understand that). Even though I am much happier without my hair (I'm still upset about not having much hair), I do still think what if, but hair implants have never come into my thoughts of a solution.

I now accept my condition, even though it has given me low self-esteem, with my apprearance (amonst other things) and hope you can too.
