Does anybody else get paranoid around strangers in public places when they're whispering? Like you see them talking and laughing, do you think they're doing that because of you? Cause I'm always doing that.

Yes.

This was the first question I was asked by any number of my therapists... always followed by; "do you believe you can read people's minds?"
haha

No.
I believe that they 'could' be talking about me or laughing about me or thinking about me-- but probably aren't.
It still terrifies me, though.
If I could be completely invisible that would be a bit better... if I could just stop existing; that would be a dream come true on any day.

#1 thing that makes me fear people; is the possibility of them lashing out at me and harming me physically
#2 is the thought that they could be laughing at me and thinking about how sad and pathetic I am.

If they're making it obvious they're discussing me in some way, I would get a little irritated about it, but I don't usually get paranoid.

But then this forum would lose a valuable person.

While I'm not going to ask specifics, this usually stems from a similar thing happening in your past. That's sad, Weirdy. ::(:

If a complete stranger will do that, then it is they who are sad and pathetic. I don't think you're either of those things.

I'm glad I'm not alone in these thoughts. "Do you believe you can read people's minds?" lol No but I'm still pretty dang sure that they're laughing at me or as you said "could" be laughing at me which also terrifies me and makes me completely uncomfortable. Right?! We need to get an invisibility cloak lol.
#1 I think that too it can get pretty annoying though :/
#2 Me too! Especially the sad and pathetic thing which makes me feel unbelievably awkward!

Lucky! For me just seeing other people whispering and laughing I automatically worry that they're talking and laughing about me.
