small dilemma...should i skip work to go to the fair?

today i have to work from 12:30. however, today is also the last day i will get to see my two best friends (essentially my only friends) before they go away to college. we were going to attend the first day of the new york state fair, which is usually the biggest day. it's also really beautiful outside. should i call in to work and lie that i have an appt, or should i go to work and miss out on seeing my friends before they leave?

depends on how important your job is to you. also depends on how transparent your lie will be.

I never have issues calling out when i have sick days available...i save my sick days for when i'm feeling really great.
