Running man (goodbye)

Hi all, I'm leaving the site. I doubt I'll come back. Real life work and all that. So this is probably the last droning poem you'll hear from me... haha... great relief right? Anyway, thanks for making me feel welcome and all despite my very short stay. Have a good life!

This will likely be my farewell poem... Though I may have some time in the future, I doubt it... But who knows the future right?

I made this poem and it is dedicated to those who have SA... Or at least this is how I sometimes feel...

There's double or even triple meanings and such for some words/parts which I embedded on purpose. I've put a lot of thinking into it... so if you're into poetry, I hope you read it slowly if you like it. If you're not into poetry, I hope you read it anyway if you like what you read...

Hopefully at least a couple of people understand my ramblings... Every man's right to dream, no? So let me run away with the poem...
***

The running man who runs away
And standing still, he runs away
And running still, he while away
And fading still, he fades away

The lights outside, a brilliant play
But in his house, the runner's stay
The world outside, a brand new day
But he doesn't rouse, so he runs away

And today once more he runs away
And runs away from yesterday
And tomorrow mourn what he did today
So then once more he'd run away

Chasing memories that chase away
And chafing memories that chafe away
Cause the world inside is a sightless gray
And blindly running, he runs away

The world is spinning but he's standing still
The runner's running but the world's tranquil
The laughter ringing and he's thinking still
If it's ill willed taunting at the man who's ill

But the silence shrill and he took a swill
Unhappy he ate, and as he ate unhappy
But the silence still and he took a swill
Silently he ate though he was not hungry

So the running man who seeks another
A fair woman, companion and lover
They'd laugh and sing and love forever
Into the lands of forever after

But what are they after?
And what can he offer?
And in his mind, a whispering banter
And in his mind, a mocking laughter

So he laughed along and told it never
Never again would he fall or waver
But those whispered doubts that run along
They ran him down and he fell headlong

So into the abyss of doubts and fears
And naught to do but to curse his curse
So into the abyss, that redoubt of fears
And naught to wonder save if it's worse to worst

The running man who tire of fears
Paused and looked back to his jailors
And would you believe this sheer wonder of wonders?
Cause they ran away and the runner so wonders

He wanders now to the edge of the universe
That little lawn of ordered matters
He took a step and wonder of wonders!
He took another and the runner so wonders

So the world is showing for the walker's swill
And the singer's singing and at last a thrill
So his world is spinning but he's walking still
And the walker's walking and at last tranquil

It's really kind of weird Nack... Because you look so much like my good friend, I feel like I've known you for years... Like I'm pretty sure you have a love hate relationship with Mathematics...

As to lurking... well, I'll lurk if I have the time. Hmmm you know... I've always wondered about lurking in general... Is there a lurker behind the lurker?

Thanks for sharing your poems with us, Dronee. I've enjoyed reading them even if I didn't always comment on every one.

And I hope you never need to come back again. ;)
