^Nah, I vaguely remembered that one from high school.

Here's a hard one.

A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

k, i fink i may have it. ( dont worry i did nt google it, lol) how is the judge supposed to know if the mans statement is true or false ??

I don't know, but if that was your answer, you're wrong, lol. Maybe the judge had an encyclopedia or something with him!

lmao, im after googling the answer but im still bloody confused !!

He said, "You'll sentence me to six years in prison." If it was true, then the judge would have to make it false by sentencing him to four years. If it was false, then he would have to give him six years, which would make it true. Rather than contradict his own word, the judge set the man free.

someone dumb dis down for me , please

since he made a false statement, the man would be automatically be sent to 6 years which would have been true however that contradicts the first rule the judge issued, so basically the statement that the man said causes an infinite loop of statements going back and forth. Thats why the judge says screw it im going home
