Hey does anyone always have an oily face even when its cold.
I get swaety palms even when i'm not in a anxiety provoking situation
at the same time my eyes get heaps red when i get nervous and my mouth gets unbelievably dry.

does anyone have the same problem????? pz reply thanx

I can't see my own eyes so I don't know if they're red or not. Yet I don't know why but... my eyes tend to blink a lot and in an annoying way when I'm nervous. -- Can anyone explain why that always happen?

I tended to sweat a lot in the past, even in after coming out of the freezing cold. But that was some time ago when the aniety was uncontrollable. Now that I'm better at handling it, I don't sweat as much, I mean unless it's boiling outside...lol!

scrabl and blinking

hey scrabl,
the reason u blink alot is a natural response of your nervous system. for example people get sweaty feet and stuff when theie nervous because the body is in its flight response and sweaty feet means better traction for running. But it seems that this response is just a bother nowerdays coz we r not cave men any more and wear sneakers and shoes for traction. In your case blinking might be your response in times of dangers but i can;t really give an explanation for what reason.

Hi bamboo

it sounds like u have a lot of nervous energy and 'fire' in ur body. This may not sound conventional but i can only suggest u eat watermelon, cucumbers to cool u down. Drink a lot of water too. Cheers :D

Hey Bamboo,

I honestly can't say that I've onvercome my anxiety 100% but I've definitely made great strides towards it. For me, anxiety took the shape of a fear of writing in front of people and walking around people, to put it simply. I avoided doing these things at all costs because I didn't want to be laughed at or criticized for "looking weird" or "different" (with a negative twist). But over time and reading posts here, I learned that facing your greatest fears over and over again make them more manageable. You'll learn that it's really not the end of the world. Because of time constraints, I will simply add that my new task is purposely "making mistakes". This may sound weird but it makes plenty of sense because many social phobics avoid certain situations for fear of making mistakes. So why not get out there and practice making mistakes so that you'll learn that it's really not the end of the world. But the technique only works when planned out well and never do anything detrimental. I read "Dying of Embarrasment" and found some really great tips there. Maybe give it a try.

Good luck.
