Personal Statement for college- social anxiety?

Hi guys,
This is one prompt for applicants to University of California system:

Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

What first came to mind was my social anxiety (well, it's more specific but I don't think I want to get into that), and how I got through it. I learned so many things on the way and I realized that I was not alone. When I got through it, it opened up so many new horizons for me. It truly made me the person I am today. However, I feel like this might be a red flag for the university. When they finish reading it, are they going to want someone who had social anxiety at their school? I figured they'd want someone more outgoing...or, someone with no sort of "problem."

I need your opinions :)

Thank you so much!

accomplishments are accomplishments. and many ppl with disorders/disabilities attend college. I don't think your application will be judged very harshly on this one aspect.

even if... there are ways you can word things so it comes across very inspirational and powerful, that it'll help you to be accepted.
