I feel like such an idiot now. The other day I went to the mall with some friends to go take some Purikura (those really cute pictures you take in those Japanese photo booths) at this new bowling alley/arcade they opened at the local mall and my friend and I were sitting in the booth, waiting for our other friends to come back with some tokens to use the photo booth. While waiting, I was playing around with my phone absentmindedly and I suddenly looked up and saw this really cute guy standing next to the booth looking at me. I looked over at my friend thinking he was looking at her but she didn't even notice him standing there, so I just looked back at him and gave him a small smile. He said "hey", I replied with a shy "hi", then he asked me "Do I know you?" and I said "I don't think so". Then he just shrugged and I shrugged awkwardly in response and looked back down at my phone, afraid to look up and see him staring at me. I was so tense the entire time. After about 30 seconds I looked back up and he was gone. I felt so stupid after that and felt even dumber that my friend hadn't noticed what had happened at all!
Now after reading this post I realize that maybe this guy was interested in me and was trying to use one of these "openers" on me and I totally blew it. Haha wow I really am hopeless ::
You will never know to be honest. If you made some small talk instead of looking back to your phone, who knows what would have happened? but i guess thats kinda hard to do, for me its easy cause for some odd reason i get on with strangers better than i do with people i know :S atm anyway. Maybe try small talk next time?
