Hopefully!!!

Social Phobia can be cured!

My Mum works with someone who said she used to have social phobia - she avoided going out where people were and was just scared of people, thats how bad her SP was. She went to a psychiatrist (she had to see 3 different ones before she found the right one for her)

and now you wouldnt believe she ever had that problem!

She is VERY outgoing, confident, always talking to people and is a VERY VERY sociable person!

So it just goes to show, that if you do want it so badly and you keep at it, you can be confident :) she is proof of that!

That is good to know that people have gotten over this enough to live a more enjoyable social life. Although I think for people who have serious social anxiety this is very hard to achieve, but by setting goals, gaining confidence, fighting through problems and never giving up, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Good luck to you in finding new confidence. :)

I have 3 ambitions in life.

The 1st, I achieved in 2003 (this was to visit USA)

The 2nd, I want to move to USA

The 3rd, is becomming confident!

I am determined to achieve ALL my ambitions! If I can achieve one, I can achieve them all..the world is my oyster hehe

I do so badly want to become confident and after hearing about the other girl, it gives me hope if you know what I mean!

To the 2nd poster, why do you call us 'sad' for having this? Its not our fault :(

PHEW lol

As I have been called sad before for being too quiet, so I just thought he was referring to the same. But I reckon social anxiety disorder sounds more like it :)

Hi IronMaidenRockess,

that's so glad to hear, esp after what a day i had. Do you know how she over came her anxiety? how long did she take to fight it? What kind of strategies did she work with her therapist to achieve this? I think these are very valuable info as they are proof of the miracle that is an anxiety-free life.
