Neighboors hate me

Even though we have lived here 10 years +, I still don't know any of our neighboors. I don't think they like me very much. They seem to be very good friends with eachother. I often see them outside talking and laughing. Offcourse I'm not welcome to join them. They probaly think I'm some kind of freak.
This one neighboor moved here a few years ago with his girlfriend. They seems to be friends with everyone else except me. They are around same age as me. When I met them in the beginning he would look at me but not saying a word. His girlfriend ignored me completely. After a while I tried to say hello when we met. He responded, but nothing more. Whenever me meet now he just seems to ignore me. The same with all the other neighboors. It's sad and feels though, when I walk past them outside and they standing there talking and laughing. I feel so alone. I feel everyone hates me :crying:

I can relate to your situation.. and me and my family have lived here a lot longer than that in this neighborhood. It all started when some rather snotty neighbors moved in across the street and then their gossip spread to every new neighbor that move in around us.. gossip is evil! People use it to destroy other people. One day the lady's kids came across the street to get to know us.. we were all just kids and we owned a german shephard.. pretty good size and kept him locked in the fence with a lock on it and a no trespassing sign.. just to keep people away.. He would try to bite strangers. Well the little boy at the time was mr. smartypants and said that the dog would not bite..he did bite and he ran over to his momma as fast as he could and she was a royal B about it and has been ever since. As of today .. my family.. we are all hated by most of the neighbors.. only the ones who choose to stray gossip and twists up stories.. it's a shame because most of the people that live out here are in their senior years and still act childish .. I was always told by anyone who I knew that came over to our house .. the problem with people was jealousy.. I have always kept the yard immaculate and my green thumb is extraordinary.. something they will never have and it bothers them. Maybe there is something about you or something you own that makes other people act that way too! Be proud of anything you have'' It is yours and they cannot take that away!"

Maybe you need to get close, try to get involved. If you don't talk with them much, they might be thinking you aren't interested. You could try finding some conversation topic, because a single greeting won't do much.

Bake something. A pie, cookies...something that few people will not like--nothing obscure. Make absolutely sure you have the recipe right.

Leave it on their doorstep at some point when you know they won't be active. Possibly pre-dawn hours.

Leave a note with it. Something along the lines of 'Hi. I'm your neighbor from [relative location]. Just thought I'd say hi and let you know I'm a decent person. Hope you like the pie. Let me know if my music is ever too loud or if there's some other problem by texting me at xxx-xxxx'.

That way you don't have to interact with them if you're not up to it, and they don't have to interact with you if they don't want to, but will still be left with a good impression.

Worst case scenario, they catch you trying to leave a pie on their doorstep and you hand them the note. They will probably like you instantly for that anyway.
