assuming you have enough money, your plan should work. but if I was you I would visit there first, instead of going to live there right away. I don't know if you know anyone would want to go there with you, going alone to a new place might seem scary a bit. If there is no one, well it might still be better then being where you are.

I plan to do something similar, i never really like the city, when i go outside i stay in the woods. you say you work online, what do you do, i would love to do that

There are no guarantees that it will work, but you have to try if you feel a pull towards a certain place. I can relate about to the feeling of wanting to leave the city too. I have just moved (temporarily) to a rural town. I am staying at a Hotel which has a bar downstairs. I have been here less than a week, so am still very much settling in, and the first couple of days I almost felt lost as that tends to happen when you have such a big change. I am starting to feel a lot more comfortable here now though.

Remember any change in mental processes won't happen overnight, but the environment in which you live can contribute towards happiness / unhappiness. Give it a couple of weeks after you move to get settled and you will have a better idea on what it is going to be like for you in this place.

Hopefully it works out for you. I just recently moved into the country - said goodbye to the corporate slavery life. We bought a 120 year old farm that we are slowly bringing back to life. The hardest part of it all is being disciplined and keeping it simple. But it sounds like you have the simplicity figured out and hopefully will be a great experience.

Great idea right here. There is no guarantee this could work out, although it certainly seems you would do better in an area that is less populated, and I would have to say that is my preference too.

Question yourself hard on this one - are you just running away from everything and everyone you know, including your social anxiety problem? Social anxiety will certainly follow you wherever you go, however, there are certain places that may be easier to exist than others.

Test it out and talk to people here again, and as long as you think it through carefully, you should be okay.
