My first post does anyone else feel so lonely but are so scared of people?

I am 44 & was married to a totally controlling Psychologist for 11 years. He wouldn't let me do ANYTHING by myself and he used to drug me up with medications so I would not resist what he wanted me to do.
Three years later I'm divorced from him and have bought my own unit and live alone.
My problems had begun well before I met him but since I've left him I've got worse with my fear of people. I am so lonely but I am scared to let any person into my life. People scare me. WHY???
Do others feel like this? I feel like a freak.

People scare you because your marriage scarred you. You're finding it hard to trust other people since your husband, the person you should trust the most, betrayed your trust and controlled you. Piling onto that is the problems that you already had. Well, good news is that you left him. That's the start to getting better. Now you just need to meet people that you can trust and confront your demons.

So, on that note, welcome to the forum and I hope that you meet some trustworthy friends on here.
