My previous depressed posts, will make you think that this is a joke but...
I have stopped my cannabis habit ( and the anxiety/depression has lowered much).
Was not so good to smoke years cannabis while anxiety and depression maked thing worse and worse.

I go to fitness with friends , I play tennis and I don't have much anxiety, ok the normal me is ''better'' but atleast I enjoy my self.
The problem I only face is work and school and im going back doing that again afhter 3 years no school. but work and school is like 8 hours a day , I know that school and work maked me depressed years ago, so why wouldn't it now ?

I want to stay alive life is great ! but I can't escape work and school forever, you know im scared of the future friends get a wife and kids ( while I probably not) they work , I work and its hell . Wished I was rich and all I did was some traveling , sporting and enjoying time with friends and just chill.

Can somebody here 30+ years tell me how life is with a fulltime job ?

It is so good to hear you with a positive outlook :) I think you may have just made my day!

Everything seems overwhelming when looked at all at once. Baby steps. :)

It does consume a lot of your time. But it does give you money which opens up other avenues. It took me many years to find a job I could stick with. I have a job where I only have to interact with 2 other people, a good compromise I think.
It is a shift to having spending most of your waking hours at a specific location doing specific thing. I used to enjoy doing the work, but doing too much of anything can become disinteresting over large lengths of time.

Its kind of like how I realy like ice cream... but I sure in hell wouldnt want to eat it every single day for the rest of my life

In the end, I lost a hobby and found a career.

Yes I have started anti-depressants for my anxiety , and hope this will give me the push I need to function good at work and school.
I have now changed my mind and im trying not to look at the future anymore or the past. just live by the day and make the best of it. maybe school and work will suck when it starts in a few weeks but yeah who knows... maybe I have smoked so much cannabis that I have erased some anxious memories so I can cope now better with situations .. who knows..

employment is rewarded with monetary compensation

it also gives you something to do all day to keep your mind and body active

if you are lucky enough to find a job doing something that you really enjoy - something you'd do for free just because it's fun or exciting - then you've really got it made

but even if not, it'll keep you out of trouble and give you some sort of purpose every day

i highly recommend working for a living

I'm desperate to earn a living, and I'm not a universe away from success, but I have a patchy history due to bad luck. This is the crux of my life. I spend far to long searching for a new job. It's demoralising. I won't go backwards to a simple career, as everyone says I should.

I had some paranoia about my cannabis, and especially loads of LSD and pills history, and the amount of medication i take daily to supress my epileptic seizures, but all this worry has disappeared. What matters after enjoying chemicals & herb, what goes in doesn't matter, especially when it goes down your throat - not up the nose or in veins. The only damage done is keeping you up all night - socialising - no sleep.

I had a magic time about age 25 on a permant job a lot higher than my age when i was so happy with all friends, every weekend overloaded with pills, etc. Everything was perfect. We all decided to abstain from everything, and be healthy at about 30. Nothing bad ever happened. I get bored very quickly with stuff i enjoy, and like to find something new - involving... Work and girlfrinds. The longer i get stuck in a rut without work, the worse it gets. When i lost one job... That was it! One hair out of place, and any potential employer just picks at me, to find any reason to dismiss me. They have better.

Don't let that happen

Clown, great to hear you've stopped cannabis and started working out!! YAY!

Fingers crossed for you!

As for jobs (and school), I enjoyed some, and hated some. And liked at least some things about most of them... It's good to find good things and focus on them, and maintain eg jogging/working out to relax/de-stress... There are other things that can help, eg getting mentors or helpful people who can help do the job better/easier, people you can vent/talk to, who commiserate and understand, and can maybe give advice/info/different perspective... Learning more (eg reading books or finding info or better systems) can help too..

For me, journalling or reading books/watching TV/being creative helped me relax too...

It really depends on the job, some are easy-going, some are more high pressure... I enjoyed most a job in a small biz with 2 other people and low easygoing tempo/no pressure too...

Oh, and some married friends can be JEALOUS of non-married pals with no kids! (They imagine all sorts of glamorous things you can do on your own, lol!)

Mike, be careful about what you write online with your RL picture (?) These things can be traced electronically and I think employers wouldn't really appreciate what you wrote.
Please know that iffy drugs can really mess up your mind (friends got pulled into bad things from even just c.) so I hope you're staying away now!!
If you get bored quickly you need work that involves change...

yes cannabis ****ed up my mind to much mood swings and no motivation, but I couldn't care though I school and work wasn't just for me and in the middle of the high I couldn't care either...lol but it made me from little ups and downs to ultra downs, so stay away from cannanbis if you suffer from anxiety disorder.

Very good advice! I'm often on deep mood swings....so cannabis won't be a good option to them 2!
