Life is a series of rooms

From an episode of House that deeply struck a chord with me, thoughts, opinions?

"Dr. House: They’re out there, doctors, lawyers, postal workers, some of them doing great, some of them doing lousy. Are you going to base your whole life on who you’re stuck in a room with?

Eve: I‘m gonna base this moment on who I am stuck in a room with! It’s what life is, it’s a series of rooms, and who we get stuck in those rooms with, adds up to what our lives are."

I was thinking more along the lines of 1. attempt to fill my life with better people/ surroundings 2. I'm always going to be stuck in a room with myself, so if I continue to be anxious/ hate myself, then what a ****ty person to spend eternity with... something about the actual visualization of looking at myself as a separate individual seemed to help clarify things more for me

I've have realized lately that I see myself as a seperate individual when I come on this site and see past posts I've made and the different moods I've been in. Sometimes I cringe, but I can view myself objectively, and see myself as a seperate person who I think might need to ask for some advice herself..(if I'm making any sense) Freaks me out a little, but I'm hoping this gives me a good tool to actually see myself. Sorry if its not exactly what your talking about, that's how I've been able to see myself, I think it's just one of those things that's hard to explain.

No, i totally know what you mean, if you can't see more than one side of yourself, than you haven't even come close to really living in my opinion

But is this about HH? Why is it in the HH section?

Anyway, I agree. People complain about other people, but then why don't they look for someone else? There are "rooms" as you say, and most of the time we are free to change room and choose a better one. Of course it's very DIFFICULT to find a good room, that is, to find nice people who are compatible with yourself, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. There are lots of people who have met their best friends very late in their lives, or that have changed their lives and habits.

If this was about HH, then I don't know what to say. HH doesn't let you change room easily, because no one really likes sweaty people. All you can do is try to find a cooler room where you are less likely to sweat a lot. But it's hard.
