Letting people in

Tonight someone invited me out for a drink with their friends on Jan 1st. They said that it will either be where they live or the smallish town that I live in. I could feel the thought of doing that where I live draining my whole body when they said it. I'm so scared that somebody will see me and talk to someone in my family, and they probably would, because my dad works in a shop in the high street and so he sees a lot of people. I can't even imagine letting someone have my home address.

It's because it would be so unusual for me to be out with people, and once they know where I live there's no going back, etc. I'm one person when I'm at home and another when I'm out, and I can't let the worlds collide.

Anyone else know what I'm going on about?

I know what your sayin man. I hate giving out any personal information. The one thing I'm starting to get used to is the fact I'm 20. I'm legally and adult and I feel I am my own person and I should be judged on my character and not have to worry about people telling my parents about what I'm doing or where I'm doing it. I don't know how old you are but even if you are in a small community and your in a pub or bar for a drink, people who have never seen you and tell your family won't feel anything negative towards you. Just make sure your not piss drunk and do something you regret.

cheers mate

Yeah. I still reckon that if I could stay somewhere away from home I'd be able to get around it. But who with when you have no friends and no idea what you really want to do? I'm 21 BTW.
