Is it possible to be still friends?

So, I met this girl a few days ago and we got along pretty well. Now, I think I may be romantically interested in her, but I know she just wants to be friends. (she hasn't explicitly said that, but it wasn't hard to figure out)

Now, is it possible to be friends with someone who you are romantically interested in? Let's be honest, I don't have a whole lot of friends, and I want to keep every single one I make.

Short answer, yes it is possible. I have done it.
Difficult, but sometimes it can be worth it.:thumbup:
But I think it would depend entirely on the individual.

You can't be rid of the thoughts, but you have to weigh up which is worse...
Having their friendship and putting the romantic thoughts to the back of your mind, OR living without their friendship?
