Iontophorisis unit and Flying

I am traveling within America by plane and would like to hear from people who have had similar experiences traveling with their Ionto unit here in America. Has anyone here taken their Iontophorisis unit through American customs and security check at the airport and been able to bring the machine onto the plane?

I'll be going through American customs tomorrow. But I always put the machine in my checked luggage. No need to risk trouble: there's no way that one is going to be able to easily explain away the bundle of wires and timer function to the officials at the border.

Only experience in Europe...was not much of a problem but of course I did have to explain a little to the dude at the scanner what the machine was, but that went quite smoothly to be honest.

'Murica might be a different story though...
