Doctors warn about Facebook use, teen depression - by John Atchison - Helium
Facebook and depression for teens?

...I think FB is neither good or bad in itself, it's what people make of it..

I have been considering getting rid of my FB page. But I have friends and family all over the place that I wouldn't get to talk to otherwise and a couple of games that I enjoy. So, I've slowly been deleting 'friends,' starting with the people that have been pissing me off the most (you know, those people that post a new status every two hours or whine about their lives 24/7). I've weeded out about 40 of those 'friends' so far and found I haven't been as annoyed with FB lately.

The 'hide from Newsfeed' feature is also incredibly invaluable. Means you don't have to read all those idiotic updates from people who are either showing off about stuff or whinging about nothingness.
don't forget the ones who post every 4 hours about which bible verse they're praying over
There's a way to hide from the newsfeed???? Where the hell have I been!? How do you do that?
I've managed to scare most religious people out of my life.
Haha I know, great right? Then they NEVER come up in your feed again! But they're still on your friends list.
When you're on the home page, looking at the feed, hover your mouse on the top right hand corner of a post. An 'X' appears. Click on the X and it gives you the option to either hide just that post or "hide all posts by *annoying person*" Click the 2nd option and there you go. Your feed is free of idiots!
if they were truly righteous, they would pray for you
it's always fun to be the subject of unsolicited prayers
WOW. You are my new hero. Thank you!

you can also choose to hide from "farmville" or whatever games
so you still get real posts from those people, but not the farmville etc. crap
