i want a job to feel less useless

well
i'm 26 and unemployed

i look on seek.com.au but the ads are so discouraging...

i never have the requirements

i look at 'data entry' jobs, but there is always some admin work involved like answering the telephones.. i've already had that type of job and couldn't handle it.

there aren't any jobs with very little people contact

i don't even have my drivers license

i don't know what to do

I'm about ready to give up on looking for a job. I've been unemployed for a year now (partly through personal problems, partly through awful job market) and I've not even had an interview for the past 5 jobs I've applied for.

Maybe as a start you could try for your driver's license? That might improve your prospects.

It might be useful to speak to a careers advisor at an employment centre - you don't have to go into details, but you could tell them what kind of job you want and they may be able to help.

Yeah, I'd really like a job too. Sure I clean the house, cook the meals...but I want to make money, esp now when times are tough.

I sent over 150 CV and went to 5 interviews... I know I know, I'm pathetic... I feel useless too. I would want to work where I don't have to contact much with people too.
Try to find some occupation on home. You can work from home, but it's hard to isolate yourself from the world more...

I guess that in reality non of the job descriptions suited me so i had to apply for the jobs regardless....In my ideal world i would be working with minimal human contact. The job i've been doing since November is a big step for me with my social anxiety...Everyday is a strain for me but beggars can't be choosers i suppose.
