I think I'm over my SA!!!!

I don't think I have SA anymore! My relatives have told my parents how much more confident I seem when I'm talking to them, I went out with my friends last night and to my surprise I was VERY talkative! I was even having a regular conversation with this one girl that I just met last night when we were at the bar playing pool, and that was after only two drinks! :D I'm soooo happy!! Finally after years and years of constantly trying to overcome this disorder I think I've finally done it!! I'm still shy but that's just who I am..

And I think the main thing that helped me overcome it is this: I stopped thinking so hard. That's it! When I stop straining to think about things to say and just concentrate on what's going on around me, I find myself commenting and just talking without even thinking about it. It's great! :D

That's great news boss - I'm really happy for you. :)

Hopefully your newly found mental health will last - no reason why it shouldn't.

OK, I believe you then. I am about to take Risperidone as well when I have it, + some antidepresiva. Wish it was so miraculous.

^^That's not true I really had it bad in highschool...But I'm taking cymbalta and risperidone I'm sure they're helping too..

You probably should mention that in the OP.

There is a lot of senseless hostility to anti-anxiety medication, which I do not understand, and seems harmful to people's recovery in general. And I think it feeds this prejudice when people talk about how they overcame SA by changing their habits, attitudes, or whatever, and never mention what/how many drugs they were taking at the same time.

Glad to hear it, so good to see a positive post on here.

I know what you're saying to, not over thinking has helped me out a lot to. Its almost like I've accepted that I'm a quite guy, and in tern it helps me open up more and more confident.

Congrtas.
