I feel like a complete failure..

I was hired for a job as an overnight stocker at Walmart. After going through the interviews and orientation, I was proud of myself for getting this far. The first night of working was alright.. I was being trained and got to work on my own with the help of someone else. There was supposed to be a week of training, turns out - there was only one night. So, the second night that I went into work.. I was expected to know everything myself. Long story short.. It was a very difficult night for me and resulted in me having two panic attacks at work. Clocking out during lunch break. Coming home and having a final panic attack. I did not go back into work to finish the second half of that night.

Nor did I go back in any day that I was scheduled to after that. I haven't called them either about me walking out, because of my anxiety and fear of being judged.. but they have not attempted contacting me about it either.
During the interview process and orientation, they did not set up my direct deposit which I thought kind of odd.. but they told me that I would be called in that next Tuesday to set it all up. Well, Tuesday came and passed and they did not call at all about it.

It's been a little over a week now and I have not been contacted about being paid for the orientation and the day and a half that I did put in.
My question is (because I believe that I should): should I still be paid for the time that I did put in? And if so... how would I go about making that happen?

Yes, you are entitled to be paid for the hours that you put in. You should call them and ask for a check to be mailed to you.
As for feeling bad, don't get too down on yourself. Places like Walmart have huge turnover rates, so they see this kind of stuff all the time. Do you think the experience could help you do better if you tried again somewhere else? It's important to ask for help and more training if you need it. Simply saying, "I don't feel comfortable doing this on my own yet" would hopefully do the trick.

I've had similar moments at jobs, so you're not the only one to bail out on your lunch break. ;) The important thing is that you get back out there and try again.

They have 72 hours after you left work to have your check ready for you. Anything ober 72 hours you are entitled to penalty pay...

What state do you live in?
