I am a miserable person and hate everyone

How can I pretend and act like I am a great guy when meeting people?

I have the same dilemma. I get perverse satisfaction from my misery and misanthropy. Though I am kind and thoughtful in the right situation. I've learnt to listen and take an interest in other people's lives. As well as hesitantly offering little bits of information about myself. I'm learning that it helps to speak in a matter-of-fact way about oneself, not to give a negative slant.

You could always pretend you're an actor and have a role to play and just act like the character you want to be.

Although, solving the problem is probably better than masking it. Why do you hate everyone? (I too dislike a large majority of people, although I'm slowly changing that)

I tend to find that is only when I am alone, when I'm with people I like them.(up to a point, then I want to be alone)
