Human race/animals

Sorry. I stand by the general idea that offering a new perspective on an issue is a significantly better option than just patting someone on the back for expressing their feelings. Staying stuck in our way of thinking with no new input is the fastest way to stagnation.

Humans have been stagnating for 2,000 years.

Humans have been stagnating for 2,000 years.

That doesn't mean we as individuals should surrender to it (individuals make up humanity, anyway). Life is all about defiance and has been since the first life defied nothingness to come into existence.

But...

Huge breakthroughs in human and animal rights is stagnation? Even bigger breakthroughs in technology and medicine is stagnation? People all over the world creating art, literature, and music and pouring their hearts into it is stagnation? Heated debates on philosophy and ethics is stagnation?

Technologically, of course, we have advanced. Mentally, we have been stagnating. There was no such thing as social anxiety disorder 2,000 years ago.

Chimps are the most cruel/brutal/vicious animal I have ever seen,we werent much diferent than them in the past probably, some of us still arent diferent :giggle:,thing is its in our nature, unfortunetly using animal "resources"
enabled us to advance until here.

How do you know that?

Well, perhaps we can go back even further then, 4,000 years ago, 5,000 years ago. Back then our psychology hadn't developed enough to have things like social stigmas that make us anxious.

Technological advancement and greater knowledge is not necessarily a good thing and I would argue it is actually a bad thing. To quote Ecclesiastes 'He who increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow'. The more knowledge we gain and the more things we begin to understand the more we have to worry about. Our knowledge and ability to think is the cause of every problem that has ever existed on the planet. If we didn't think we wouldn't have problems as we wouldn't know any better.

That's not really an answer on how you know, and a brief Google search on any ancient or medieval society + "social stigma" or other similar terms brings actual results, so...

It is an answer on how I know. Do you seriously think cavemen felt self-concious about their appearance? Social psychology is a strong topic used in studies of psychology. Comparative psychology is another (comparing the animal mind to the human mind). Needless to say animals don't feel self-concious, nor do they worry how they will be judged by others.

Of course, the term 'social stigma' is used in essays, because it is a term that we use today. Medieval society doesn't go back as far as 2,000 years ago anyway.
