I am currently skipping a class that I missed last week due to work (so this makes my second absence). The only reason I'm skipping this time is because I didn't get the homework done and it makes me really anxious to go to class unprepared (even though it is not expected of me to talk during this class). If I miss one more time, my grade will be lowered one letter. I will not get credit for the homework that was due last week or this week. I also just realized I missed another assignment 2 weeks ago. We have our midterm next week, so I'm not going to get the review sheet.
Normally, I'm fine going to this class, but I could see this snowballing (as it has in the past in similar situations). I am not very anxious right now (because I'm not in the middle of the anxiety-producing situation). I'm debating what, if anything, to say to the instructor, and how to proceed. I believe I can pass the class okay still, but will need to be more diligent.
Once I make up my mind that I'm going to avoid something, it's hard to change it back. Even if avoiding is worse than just facing it head-on. Anyone else have this problem?
