How old are your friends?

...especially to those of you who are 20 like me. How old are your friends?

I'm just wondering if I'm trying to punch above my weight with everything I'm trying to do right now. Of the people who I work with, I have 'known' two since I started, and both are 22. I know it's only two years difference, but with SA controlling the way I act, I know they don't see me as mature. It's understandable, and generally I'm treated the same as everyone else, especially of course with serious work matters.

But is it too much? I'm not that different from them with the things I want to do, and I'm asking more about the way they see me... this is not really going to sound how I want it to, but is it really worth trying to get to know them? I know there aren't set rules for who you can be friends with, but could I ever be friends with them? Really?

Thanks guys, and I will keep that in mind zeroday. It made me feel a little easier today and I'm glad I'm not wasting my energy.

Now I just have to figure out how to make a friend... I've never been past the stage when you talk with people just to be polite... is there a how-to on it? ;)

uhh I'm friends mostly with people my age, or a little younger. I'm immature, so, when I hang out with people my age and younger, we can all be immature together! It's great. :) I don't like when people act too mature, it's so boring. :p

Ooh, quick update, didn't know quite where to put it...

On Saturday my manager (one of the people I was talking about) *finally* moved to the end of our computers, so now I sit right by her. I no longer have to stand over her in the middle of the room like a prat to (try to) talk to her!

Today I asked her how her weekend was, and she actually told me about what she did. She started talking to me. Not that I could say too much back, because I didn't do anything, as ever, but I did ask a couple of questions and kept it going for a moment. I almost felt normal! I just hope I did seem a bit interested... and it's going to be hard to go anywhere tomorrow, I've used up my one starting question...

I didn't feel too much fear, it was almost disappointing. The way that works for me, when I can occasionally do these things, is just to do it - "Do it now! NOW! Go go go!" As soon as I think about things, I talk myself out of them.

But it was probably just because I can semi-hide behind the separator ;)

I have some friends my own age (i'm 23) i've had for years but the newer friends I make tend to be fairly older. 8 years + i'd say, with some exceptions. I just seem to get along with older people better, for the most part anyway.
