Just had an inpromtue visit by my father. Really uncomfortable. He talked mostly with my wife who told him I have OCD and he wanted to know what it was about. So I told him it's related to exestential niilistic thoughts amongst other things and he said I should stop reading certain things.
OMG. As if it's due to me reading stuff. I'd better stop reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz in case I go psycotic.
Feeling half way decent this morning. Coffee. I'm trying to figure out how to feel better about myself, being who I am...The question I have is, "is this me?" or am I suppose to be different...is this me or is this a disorder? Negative or positive...it's confusing. Half the time I beat myself up for not being able to be like the other people in my world, and the other half I am feeling glad that I don't have to deal with all that social stuff...

So ****ing angry.
Sorry to hear that. I can relate, though. It's annoying when family members make those sort of quick judgements when you're trying to explain. My mum used to be the same with me when I would and telling her about my social anxiety.

I'd better stop reading Clive Barker's gory horror stories then, in case the same thing happens to me. 😀 (I like Stephen King and Dean Koontz as well, btw) Joking aside, I think it's silly of your father to make such a connection between your OCD and the type of books you read. I guess, it's quicker, and easier, to blame on something else unrelated, instead of fully understanding the condition.

The thing is he spent most of his working life as a social worker dealing with problem children in Barnardos. He has seen it all and didn't treat them the same as he does me. He now works for the government getting people back into work who have had problems in the past whether it be health related issues or if they are people who have just got out of prison. If any one person should understand it should be him.
I'm 34 for goodness sake and I still feel like a kid with a slapped arse around my parents.

Yeah, you'd think your dad would be more understanding of your OCD issues. It's pretty ironic, really. Especially given your dad's previous job as a social worker. Oh, I can also relate to your parents still treating you like a kid - I'm 23 and my mum still treat me like that as well.
I feel exhausted. I should stop caring so much about what others think of me.
I don't think that's what you want to aim for; I think what you're going for is, "I should stop caring so much about what the haters think of me." Think about the positives, not the negatives. What's gotten you exhausted though, school or people? I hope we can help lift this burden in any way.
I feel pretty awful actually. I slept in til 3 pm basically wasting my entire saturday. Its raining and completely grey out. Im hungry,im tired, and for any aussies in here im still absolutely rattled about the grand final haha
thanks man, i just wish i was more consistent in my feelings. usually i deal with isolation well, but sometimes i get really envious of those who are not alone.
Lol it's probably not what you think. I was just happy because I actually managed to finish my math and chemistry homework without anyones help. Im usually completely lost and ready to jump off a cliff after doing that stuff, but today went rather smoothly.
