Hikikomori

thx, fixed the link.

This might mean that we (if i can call 'us' that :? ), are starting a new trend here, the next generation of human 'being'.
Yes, we are at the forefront of evolution, we .., we are pioneers.

Well, maybe not...
But there's nothing wrong with a life in isolation, spent thinking about human interaction. It's just not allways a very happy existance.
I like to kid myself sometimes, that while 'the rest' is being happy (if they are that) I am doing non-stop mental labour.

jesus christ, 20 percent of the male adolescent population, thats alot. Eastern education is that tough, i didnt know it.
Poor kids, i´d probably be a hikikomori if i was born in japan.

i heard from a doco that japanese have it really tough in the school system. If you are not doing it well you are deemed weak, especially socially. There is alot of bullying and social hierarchy. society does not tolerate the weak.

Japanese culture is very competitive and one of the worst thing you can do is bring dishonor to your family. No wonder there schools are so tough.
