Well, the idea is that people can move around social classes and have opportunities based on merit (intellect/ability) rather than who their parents were. Or at least that's what I vaguely recall.

If you ask people online what their IQ is, you will get results inflated to an extent that invalidates the data. This is doubly true of people with social problems.

both measurements serve much the same purpose

i suspect they are both of more use to statisticians than they are to the people being measured

the measurement by itself is meaningless

it only matters what you are able to do with the item being measured
