#I agree with this. I'll say why. Even though i do find 1-2 people to talk to and i will try to help people with work related stuff. One of the loudest guys at work doesnt go out much. He likes movies and isn't into parties at all and he's the funny louder type (so alot of things don't make sense). There is one guy who says the one liners every so often but is mostly quiet..so there is a wide variety at work of different personas but not that much judging. The only gossip is about work politics usually. Like "Did you hear such and such said this". ....Or "such and such is a bit slow" ....
So i think it is possible to be quiet or loud. actually alot of employers prefer the quieter types who don't question everything and chip away at things. the louder ones are also seen as good because they are sort of pseudo managers when the managers aren't around.
Yup, in my interview for the job, it was a group one and we had a guy who was loud and said way too much. I gave one liners. I got hired, he never.
I seriously thought I might not get hired because of how much I only give one liners but they actually liked it as it was straight to the point. End of the day they don't want time wasters, because what he said could of been said in 3 seconds rather than 3 minutes lol.
Work places take on a huge variety of people now and if they hired everyone who was social, the work load would be much higher as less would get done.
Maybe it is a guy thing but if I talk when working I definitely see a decrease in my performance. Also when I work alone I set myself challenges to get faster and better, constantly striving to improve.
I know for a fact none of the others do this.
But back on track, to the OP, don't make excuses, excuses will just lead to you feeling unhappy and pressured, you will never feel good in a job what makes you feel like that. I am sure there is a better job out there for you and you will find it
