Here I go again: a little something about being in the moment, a skill at which I am very bad indeed. As always, comments welcome and appreciated.
This Is the Time
This is the time, the quiet time
before the singing, shouting, crying time,
before the driving and the grinding time,
the time of morn before the mourning time.
This is the breathing time.
This is the fleeting time
between the sighing night and barking day,
the time when crickets chant and rabbits play.
This is the single-starlight time,
the inspiration time,
the pencil-to-the-paper time,
the scratch-a-verse-by-lamplight time.
This is the still and peaceful time,
the lone-but-never-lonely time,
and this is all the time that is,
this gift, this now, this time.
