"To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

I always liked the quote"Laugh and the world laughs with you,cry and you cry alone." By Wilcox an American author and poet. That always stuck with me.

Funny to say but I disagree with this quote, lol

Laughing is good but I think peace is more important
I think trying to win the respect of intelligent people is a mistake, or at least unnecessary
I think the same about trying to earn anything from people

I agree with trying to make the world a better place, and trying to make other's life easier, at a certain degree.

To each their own definition of success :)
